Hide N Seek Foundation: Free Eating Disorder Ambassador Program

We are thrilled to offer your school complimentary access to the Eating Disorder Ambassador Program, a nationally recognised professional development and early-intervention initiative designed to create mentally healthy and body-safe school communities. This prize enables your school to be part of a national movement committed to awareness, prevention, and compassionate response. What the Prize Includes:

1. Two-Hour Foundation Training (delivered in-person or virtually): Facilitated by a registered mental health professional with lived experience. Teaches staff how to recognise early warning signs of eating disorders in students. Breaks down common myths and misconceptions. Covers the impact of language, peer culture, and classroom environments on body image. Equips participants with the skills to approach students with care, confidence, and appropriate support.

2. Tailored Follow-Up Session (60–90 minutes): Held 4–6 weeks after the initial training. Provides space for reflection, scenario-based learning, and practical problem-solving tailored to your school’s unique challenges. Helps schools embed the learning into daily practices and wellbeing strategies.

3. Ambassador Toolkit + Physical & Digital Resource Pack: A comprehensive guide for all staff including: Conversation prompts and response scripts. Referral pathway guides and evidence-informed fact sheets. School posters, staffroom resources, and student-safe visual assets. Printable materials designed to continue conversations across year levels and wellbeing spaces.

4. School-Based Eating Disorder Ambassador Designation: Each school nominates 1–2 staff members (e.g., wellbeing coordinator or year-level lead) to serve as Eating Disorder Ambassadors. Ambassadors are provided additional guidance and support to act as internal champions and points of contact for student concerns, teacher queries, or family referrals.

5. Ongoing Support & Community Connection: Access to Hide N Seek’s national Ambassador network. Invitations to virtual webinars, storytelling events, and continued professional learning. Priority access to our broader suite of awareness campaigns, discussion tools, and future programming. Impact & Benefits to Your School: Increases confidence and competence in staff to address eating disorder-related concerns early. Reduces stigma by fostering open, supportive, and body-positive language across school culture. Empowers schools to take proactive steps toward prevention and early intervention. Aligns with national mental health strategies and wellbeing priorities. Builds long-term capacity through internal champions and embedded resources.

Why This Matters: Most eating disorders begin during adolescence, but they often go unnoticed for months — sometimes years. Schools are often the first place where changes in behaviour, social patterns, or eating habits are observed, yet most educators receive no formal training on how to respond. This program fills that gap by offering a safe, empowering, and evidence-informed pathway forward.

A Gift with Long-Term Impact: This free placement of the Eating Disorder Ambassador Program reflects our mission to ensure that no young person suffers in silence. Your school’s participation in this program not only supports your own students but contributes to a growing national movement of schools that are leading the way in mental health and eating disorder prevention.
